The CIO Rental Assistance Program is designed to support
residents of District 6 in Prince George's County, MD who are currently in
or about to face rental eviction proceedings.

 

Either the property management company or rental tenant facing eviction may submit a request for financial support.

If you have successfully submitted the application and have received a confirmation email from the CIO - RAP  office; it is being reviewed. Please wait 5-7 days for an update on your application. If after this time period you do not have a response please email the CIO - RAP Review Team at:  INSERT EMAIL. 

 

What Can The CIO Rental Assisance Program Cover? 

 

The CIO Rental Stabilization Fund will pay directly to the rental property managemnt company the amount needed to stop the eviction process. This does require that the rental tenant be in good standing with the property management company.  The coverage is only for back due rent; it does not cover utilities or penalties. 

 

What Are the Eligibility Requirements?

 

To be eligible for assistance, a household must be obligated to pay rent on a residential unit and that:

Lease Holder(s) is currently facing a possible eviction process. 

Lease Holder(s) is currently in the eviction process.

Lease Holder(s) have attempted to work with Leasing Office Management.

Lease Holder(s) who have reached out to other emergency rental support programs, but still have a remaining balance. 

Must reside in a rental property located in District 6 in Prince George’s County

 

Facing Eviction?

 

If you are facing eviction due to delinquent rent and you have a court summons, court judgment, Warrant of Restitution, or Warrant for Possession, you may be eligible to apply for“Keeping You in Your Home” CIO Rental Assistance Program?  
All U.S. Treasury requirements for CIO-RAP eligibility apply. 

Please attend all court hearings in Landlord-Tenant Court. Submitting an application or court document to CIO-RAP does not excuse you from attending your court hearing.

 

Who Can Apply?


The application is submitted by the leasee (Step 1) and this will allow the CIO-RAP to 
begin conversations with the Property Management Team \ Landord(s).
 

Property owners, landlords, or property managers. The property must be occupied by tenants meeting the requirements for tenant eligibility.

 

The Community Impact Offfice site is offered to you conditioned on your acceptance without modification of the terms, conditions, and notices contained herein. Your use of the Community Impact Offfice Site constitutes your agreement to all such terms, conditions, and notices.

Rental Stabilization Application

Rent Stabilization Steps:


1. Review basic information on website.

2. Complete Rent Stabilization Application.

3. CIO Review team will review application.

4. If appoved, a zoom, phone, or in person meeting will be scheduled.

5. If denied, an email will be sent explaining the denial. Rental tenant may re-apply. 

6. The CIO Review Team will contact Property Management Representative and begin discussions to stop the eviction process and pay the back rent balance. 

7. The CIO Review Team will contact the rental tenant to update the current status of the rental stabilization payment moving forward. 

8. CIO-RAP requires applicatnt to complete the online Financial Literacy Review. 

9. The CIO will forward back rent payment request. Payment will then be made directly to the property management company. 


*During the 1st time application, the CIO Team may recommend non-profit services available in the office for the rental tenant.
